Chess Collection Maker
A downloadable tool for Windows
Chess Collection Maker is a simple tool that lets you merge several chess PGN game files into a single, organized collection.
How it works
1. Select one or more 'pgn' files
2. Enter a collection name
3. Create your games collection
Using it on Lichess
The simplest way to use it is to import the generated file directly into Lichess Studies. Lichess will automatically divide your games into chapters, using the correct game names.
The main limitation is that Lichess supports up to 64 games per study. You can optionally limit the number of games per generated file to match this.
When importing into Lichess Studies:
- Each game becomes one chapter
- Lichess supports up to 64 chapters per study
Larger collections can still be imported and will be handled according to Lichess’ own study behavior.
Status
This is an early but usable release.
- The core workflow is stable.
- Small improvements and quality-of-life features may come over time.
Feedback is welcome.
I want to build a small series of simple PGN manipulation utilities, so I’m interested in hearing from you.
